Geography
The aim of Geography teaching at St. Edmund's is to stimulate in our pupils an interest in and an appreciation of the world around them. In addition, children will begin to consider many environmental issues, which have implications for the kind of world they want to occupy as adults.
It is hoped that through the Geography curriculum pupils will develop an understanding of place on a local, regional and global scale, and through the use of a range of investigative and problem solving skills, they will increase their understanding of maps and other non fiction resources.
Through the curriculum children will be introduced to different societies and cultures, thus encouraging an informed concern for the world around them and heightening their awareness of how nations rely on each other.
