Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage!

Your teacher is Mrs Mitchell and your teaching assistants are Mrs Regan and Miss Holmes.

Every day we have lots of fun in class, painting, exploring outside and reading stories. As we explore each topic, you will have lots of opportunities to learn, investigate and get messy!

We welcome you into our St Edmund’s family. We can’t wait to watch you grow this year.

If you have any questions or would like to know more then please contact school directly and we will be happy to help.

Reading:

Reading books will be changed twice weekly on a Friday. Please ensure book bags are in school every day so your children can read with their teachers.

Every time you read at home and comment within your child’s reading record book. We strongly encourage you to read with your child every day. Phonic information, sound mats and letter formation cards will also be included within your child’s book bag along with information about how best to support reading at home.

PE:

PE will take place every Thursday morning. Can children please have a full P.E kit in school wearing their PE kits every Thursday.

Our FSU garden:

We are fortunate to have a wonderful outdoor area which we use every day rain or shine. Could you please ensure that your children are sent to school with appropriate footwear and warm clothing on our wet and windy days and have spare clothing and wellies in school contained in a backpack for those unpredictable weather days.

SEESAW:

https://web.seesaw.me/

To keep you up to date with messages, photographs and videos, we use a great app called Seesaw, which you can download on your phone and receive notifications instantly about your child. You will receive a letter detailing how to access this at the beginning of the year so please set this up as soon as possible. If you need any assistance, then our FSU staff will be more than willing to help.
